Sooner or later, as everyone discovers, nothing in this world is free. Although there are literally hundreds of free Hosting – adds popping up on the Internet, nobody can stay in business very long giving it away. So how can hosting services offer free hosting?
Easily.
One way is to be a part of their money from your domain name to register. Domain registration is a necessary step for any future web site owner (some cheap host play a numbers game between your monthly costs and your annual domain registration fee, for example:
$ 5/month and registration fee of $ 30, or $ 7 a month and only $ 6 to register, or ... ... you get the picture).
Another way they make money is adding advertising on your Web page. Will they get paid either each time the banner is displayed, or every time someone clicks on the ad.
Some will offer additional add ons as Spam or virus protection, protection of the theft of the domain, or other services at an additional cost. Of course if you feel you're in need of these services, then you must purchase them.
There are also restrictions such as bandwidth, storage space, number of email accounts, and
and so on, in the hope that you will later need anymore and decides to upgrade.
So are the so-called free Hosting services even worth the time to consider?
Certainly they are! There are situations where someone not tons of storage, bandwidth, email, and so on might. Just find a
host that offers what you want without a lot of compromises. One such host that I use quite often is doteasy.com. No banners, only an annual domain registration. And for me, they always
responded to my questions within 24 hours by email.
So if your new Web page development, just want to create your own personal Web page, ect., and not really that intensive system requirements, then free Hosting is the way to go.
